Capture all downloads

A serious downloader needs a download manager to sort through files and make sure the most important ones are on your Mac first.

Leech is a very intuitive download manager with some original features.

The first time you install it you'll get the chance to set up the Leech Browser Plug. Though this takes a bit more time, I highly recommend it as it will make sure any download found in your browser is picked up by Leech.

You can drag and drop URLs onto the interface and manage them all in a list. Leech includes start/stop and pause buttons. I also quite liked being able to mark certain URLs for downloading.

If you're worried about your security you'll be glad to know that Leech supports password protection. Your passwords can be stored in KeyChain and you can download from protected features.

The only feature that left me a bit unconvinced was rules definition, which feels a little bare compared to the rest.

Despite a weak rules feature, Leech is a very intuitive download manager.

The best download manager is the one that doesn't get in your way. That's why Leech can capture all downloads from Safari, Camino, and OmniWeb while staying almost invisible.
